Andean forests and specialized feeding stations

El Color de mis Rêves, near Manizales, is a highly specialized bird photography site, with feeders thoughtfully arranged to create varied, attractive settings for close-up images. The setups offer opportunities to photograph birds at close range while enjoying attentive, dedicated service.

It is the only known location in Colombia where the elusive Ocellated Tapaculo and the stuning Black-collared Jay visit a feeder, offering a rare chance to photograph this secretive species.

The same setup may also attract the restricted-range Bicolored Antpitta. Fruit feeders bring in sought-after birds such as Black-billed Mountain-Toucan, and Hooded Mountain-tanager, along with a variety of tanagers. Hummingbird feeders provide further opportunities to capture these fast-moving birds in detail.
